ABOUT THE CONTRIBUTORS

The Tableau Student Guide was created by Maria Brock, a 2019-2020 Tableau Student Ambassador. She envisioned a simple site that would give Tableau newbies and students a one-stop-shop in starting with Tableau. In 2021, she passed in the guide to the capable hands of Eric Balash, a Tableau Public Ambassador and Millennials & Data trainer.

The Tableau Student Guide is currently run by Eric Balash.

MARIA BROCK

Founder

Maria started learning Tableau during college. She quickly realized that it was a powerful tool and that many business are desperate for well-formed Tableau developers. After a summer internship where she used Tableau every day, she became a Tableau Student Ambassador for the 2019-20 academic year at George Mason University. During her last year, Maria devoted her time to running workshops and coaching students on using Tableau. She decided to create the Tableau Student Guide after interacting with newcomers to the Tableau community. This Tableau Student Guide is meant to be a one stop shop to everything that a Tableau newbie needs to know to start with Tableau and jump into the community. Maria has spoken at several TUGs and panels across the globe and currently works at ServiceNow as a Senior BI Designer for their CoE and Data Analytics teams.
